Welcome to my website.
I grew up in NYC during the golden age of magazine photography. As a child, reading stories and pouring over photos in magazines allowed me to imagine possibilities that weren’t possible in my real life. Later in college, I took my first photography class and discovered a passion. Black and white photography and the “Black is Beautiful” era inspired me to capture portraits of my classmates.
Though I didn’t explore photography professionally, my career in human resources took me through many visually creative industries, such as television, advertising and publishing. This exposure increased my appreciation of photography’s power not just to see but to feel and think. After retiring to Sarasota, I immersed myself in the world of digital photography. My work has won a number of awards, been shown at regional galleries, and some of my work is on commission to an art and design firm that sells to interior decorators and the general public.
As you explore my site, you will see a broad choice of subjects. When I take my photos I see how light, texture, contrast, tonalities, color, environment, shape and figures reveal more about the world around us. I seek to go beyond the subject and not just look at it… to capture the moment… to feel the moment.
